Written for xylophone, two marimbas and vibraphone with two flutes, I have strived for a dialogue between all the instruments using repetitive phrases using musical materials that slowly change and evolve. The intent is to create a quasi-hypnotic state where the smallest of changes become noticeable. There is no discernible melodic line nor emphasis on clearly defined key centers. The slowly evolving changes are meant to be felt as one continuous flow as opposed to strict sectional movements.
